Edmodo

 Edmodo is a platform that is used for managing classroom. Teachers can upload documents and materials, create posts, make announcements and upload assignments. Edmodo also enables communication not only between the teacher and the students, but also among the students. Edmodo is a great platform to keep track of the classroom activities. 

After signing up and creating a class, teachers can start with creating all sorts of materials. A welcome post is a great way to start. As can be seen from the picture, posts can be created through the boxed area. Gifs, images and files can also be attached to the created posts. The arrow in the photo points to a post example that I have created.
Polls can also be created in the same place as the posts are created. 
Teachers can also create assignments. Additionally, assignments can have documents and links attached to them. Through those links and documents attached, the given assignment can be made more clear for the students.

MindMeister is a mind mapping tool where you can easily create mind maps. MindMeister is a user-firendly platform in which you can store and organize the mind maps you have created. While creating new mind maps, MindMeister enables the users to fully customize their mind maps. Additionally, you can share your mind maps with other people. This feature of MindMeister makes it really easy to use this platform when working with other people. Additionally, this platform enables users to attach documents to mind maps. This is very useful especially for teachers. When creating a mindmap, teachers can attach videos, images, files to make the information presented in the form of a mind map even more effective. The Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning

The cognitive theory of multimedia learning, which is developed by Richard Mayer, suggests that the use of words and graphics help people learn better by forming mental representations. This theory consists of three assumptions; the dual channel, the limited capacity and the active processing assumption. The dual channel assumption claims that the information is processed through two channels; auditory and visual. According to the limited capacity assumption, each of these channels has a limited capacity and the learning should occur through taking few information at once. The active processing assumption claims that learning is filtering, selecting, organizing and integrating information based on previous knowledge. Mayer’s multimedia learning theory combines these three assumptions and explains the process of learning.
