Jamboard


Jamboard is a very useful tool for online lessons. If the teacher needs a white board when he/she is explaining a topic, Jamboard is the way to go. Apart from working as a white board, with Jamboard students can also create posters and work together on them very easily, even when they are not together physically. Moreover, the projects can also be carried out asynchronously and synchronously.

In the student project given as an example, students work in groups and describe the appearance of one person in their group. Even in an online lesson, students can easly create a poster and have an end product of what they practiced. Additionally, they can work together and help each other in choosing the correct words for this project.

MindMeister is a mind mapping tool where you can easily create mind maps. MindMeister is a user-firendly platform in which you can store and organize the mind maps you have created. While creating new mind maps, MindMeister enables the users to fully customize their mind maps. Additionally, you can share your mind maps with other people. This feature of MindMeister makes it really easy to use this platform when working with other people. Additionally, this platform enables users to attach documents to mind maps. The Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning

The cognitive theory of multimedia learning, which is developed by Richard Mayer, suggests that the use of words and graphics help people learn better by forming mental representations. This theory consists of three assumptions; the dual channel, the limited capacity and the active processing assumption. The dual channel assumption claims that the information is processed through two channels; auditory and visual. According to the limited capacity assumption, each of these channels has a limited capacity and the learning should occur through taking few information at once. The active processing assumption claims that learning is filtering, selecting, organizing and integrating information based on previous knowledge. Mayer’s multimedia learning theory combines these three assumptions and explains the process of learning.
